Why We Built This Site
Kentucky gives the public broad access to many court and public-agency records, but Nelson County records do not all sit in one office. Circuit Court handles felonies, divorces, adoptions, civil cases over $5,000, contested probate matters, and appeals. District Court handles misdemeanors, traffic, ordinances, small claims, probate of wills, felony arraignments, and preliminary felony matters. Circuit Court Clerk Diane Thompson at the Nelson County Justice Center is the practical starting point for local case files, while County Clerk Jeanette Hall Sidebottom handles land records, marriage licensing, recorded wills, and other permanent county records. We pull together the contact details, search portals, fee schedules, and request steps for these offices into one place.

Only the issuing court or government office can provide a certified copy with an official seal. We can point you to the right office, but the document has to come from them.
