Pay or Contest Traffic Tickets
Payment does not always mean appearance is optional. Some citations require a court appearance, and some cases have license, bond, warrant, or criminal consequences that are not solved by payment alone. Nelson County Points and Traffic School
Kentucky's point system is state-administered. Adults who reach 12 points within two years, or drivers under 18 who reach 7 points, may face suspension. Points expire two years from conviction, but the conviction remains on the driving record for five years. CDL DUI and Serious Traffic Cases
Commercial drivers should not treat ordinary traffic-school language as a promise that a moving violation will stay off a CDL record. The research states that moving convictions for CDL and commercial motor vehicle cases must be posted. Non-licensed and out-of-state drivers are not eligible for Kentucky State Traffic School. CDL consequences can depend on both the court record and the state driver record.
